About Norma L. Thiele
Norma L. Thiele, 90, of Apache Junction, Arizona; passed away on March 24, 2015 in Apache Junction. She was born in Paton, Iowa on September 20, 1924 to Charlie and Gayle Pack. Norma lived in Iowa most of her life. She and her husband Larry farmed near Ventura, Iowa and wintered in Arizona until they moved permanently to Arizona about fifteen years ago. Norma and Larry lived at Orangewood Shadows in Mesa, Arizona for more than twenty years. Norma is survived by her children: Robert (Linda) Cody of Gold Canyon, Deborah (Dennis) Morris of Boise; 40+ Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; and Sister Sharon (Robert) Gebhart of Osceola, Iowa.

You will always be with me, Mom. You are the smell of certain foods I remember, flowers I pick, the fragrance of life itself. You are the cool hand on my brow when I was sick. You are the breath in the air on a cold winter’s day. You are the sound of rain that lulls you to sleep. You live inside of my laughter. Grandma~ I am going to miss you….. You were the one that nicknamed me “little Anna.” I will never forget the song you would sing to us while sitting on your lap, A bushel and a Peck. And a Hug around the Neck. I LOVE YOU AND ALWAYS WILL GRANDMA…….

3 years ago Josh, Garrett and I made the long drive from Idaho down to visit you, and for Garrett and I, to meet you for the very first time. Although only being there for a few days doesn’t give one much time to spend with another, they certainly were a wonderful few days that I got to know you, that Garrett got to spend with his great grandma, and that Josh got to spend getting reacquainted with his grandmother. I wish that we could have made more memories like the ones we made over those few days, but I know that they will be deeply cherished. What a wonderful lifetime to live sharing moments of joy and sorrow with those you loved and cared about. You sure were one tough cookie!! Rest in peace Grandma Norma. We will love you and miss you every day.

Grandma…I will miss you very much. So many memories…spent the last week thinking of 30-something years worth-FULL…but if I can put your life into one simple but special part of you, is that you lived, never giving up on life. No matter the obstacles that life threw in your way, you fought through them – tough times, grief, pain, sickness, and loss – you overcame them, found a way to smile in your all your hurting, and then you’d suggest that we all go out to eat! I love you so much, Grandma.

Dear Grandma, I feel so fortunate that you were my Grandmother and always will be. With distances apart and wishing I could have been with you more I will always hold dear to the memories I have with you. You are so special to me and I will never forget you. Dear Grandma, Thank you for making many memories in my life. From the house on the farm and the fun we had there. The times you and grandpa would visit in Idaho in your RV. The walks we went on, the talks we had, going shopping at the mall, and much, much more. I always looked forward to playing cards and cribbage!! You will be remembered by your pheffernusse cookies!! I will miss you a lot and I love you!!
